Purpose
The purpose of the program is to serve as a community facility that enables program activities and provide food distribution services to low-income, disabled, and elderly citizens.
Provide educational information on various topics, at no cost, to citizens who reside within the Emmet (71835) community.
Program Goals
Utilize the Fellowship Hall to distribute food to eligible applicants and families.
Provide opportunities for individual and group socialization activities.
Educate participants on various topics relative to their needs and interests.
Food Pantry
The operation of a Food Pantry is available to help families in times of need. The Pantry is open to local participants on a monthly basis (or in an identifiable emergency situation) for basic food items. A schedule of pantry dates is listed on the calendar and will be posted in the Fellowship Hall, area churches and in the community the week's before the event.
Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
Senior Citizens who are age 60 and above, income eligible and reside in Nevada County may participate in the program with an approved application. Commodities are distributed the third Wednesday of the month during Food Pantry.
